Your key responsibilities?
As MES Project Engineer in the central engineering/automation department you will work on automation projects for all our production plants, transforming these into factories of the future. You are responsible for realization and implementation of automation investments on a project basis. The realization is carried out against a defined scope according to a predetermined and approved quality, timing and budget.
You are based in Izegem, and you can travel to our production sites in Europe.
- You ensure the development, testing and roll-out of our Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) projects.
- You are in charge of the realization of automation projects in collaboration with colleagues from our production sites and suppliers.
- Project management and project-based work in teams: steering and leading automation projects together with a multifunctional project team, drafting project charters and deliverables in consultation with all stakeholders and team members. Systematically and structurally reporting to team members, internal customers (production, maintenance, environmental service, security service, product development sites) and project sponsors.
- Furthermore, you define new solutions by translating user requirements into functional design and technical concept.
- You provide technical expertise to all production sites and sharing of best practices.
- You are passionate about and you follow up new technological evolutions and Industry 4.0. through seminars, supplier contacts, fairs, etc.
- You act as second-line support for automation-related issues.

Are you the one we're looking for?
- You hold a Master degree in Science of Engineering (ICT, automation, electrical) and have a minimum of 3 years relevant working experience.
- Good knowledge of MES platforms (preferably GE Plant Applications), IT programming (SQL Server, .NET, Reporting tools) and MS Windows and Office is a strong asset.
- Knowledge of PLC and SCADA programming (S7, TIA portal, WinCC, iFix) is a plus.
- You are proactive with good organization and planning skills. At the same time, you are pragmatic, problem-solving, creative and taking initiative.
- You have well-developed analytical, conceptual and synthetic skills.
- You are eager to work in an international environment.
- You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with fluency in Dutch as a requirement. Proficiency in English is crucial, and knowledge of French is a plus.
- You are willing to travel 10% of your time (short trips).
