Your role
As a Virtual Center of Expertise (VCOE) Officer for Controlling within the Vandemoortele Group, you play a key role in supporting the group-wide controlling community. You act as an expert in data, processes, and tools, ensuring high-quality and timely management information across the organization. You collaborate closely with controllers across plants, business units, and corporate teams.


Your responsibilities:

  • Daily & Quarterly Product Costings
    • You prepare and validate daily costing runs to ensure accurate product cost visibility.
    • You support quarterly updates by gathering required inputs (e.g., raw material prices, production standards, overhead rates).
    • You perform data consistency checks and investigate deviations.
    • You work closely with local controllers and the central master data team to ensure correct master data and reliable cost buildup.

  • Delivering & Developing New Power BI Reports
    • You are a key driver of digital reporting for the controlling community:
    • You build and maintain Power BI dashboards tailored to operational, financial, and strategic controlling needs.
    • You translate business questions into clear, user-friendly data visualizations.
    • You optimize existing datasets and collaborate with the Data & Analytics team to improve data flows.
    • You train controllers and end-users to get the most out of our BI tools.

  • Month-End Closing Support
    • You run predefined checks and reconciliations (e.g., P&L validations, cost center controls).
    • You ensure all relevant master and transactional data is correctly reflected before closing deadlines.
    • You help in resolving ad-hoc issues to guarantee a smooth and timely close.
    • You support the preparation of internal reports and analyses.

  • Develop Improvements in the Planning Tool (Forecast & Budget)
    • You enhance forecast and budget templates, workflows, and functionalities.

  • Maintain and Update Process Documentation
    • You maintain procedures and work instructions and contribute to the VCOE knowledge base.

About you

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a financial/economic or IT area. A first experience in Controlling, FP&A, Costing or Financial Reporting is a strong advantage.
  • You are familiar with management reporting, product costing, and controlling processes.
  • You are highly analytical with a flair for numbers and you are comfortable working with large datasets and complex data flows.
  • You have a basic understanding of and are interested in interpreting financial information. You’re able to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Understanding of SQL or data modelling is a plus.
  • You are a team player with a hands-on mentality who likes to take initiative.
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, in Dutch and English.
  • You are highly flexible, proactive, pragmatic, stress resistant  and have a strong eye for detail.
  • You have excellent knowledge of Power BI: you have experience in building & improving reports.
  • You have knowledge of MS Office. Experience in SAP & TM1 is a plus.
