Currently, Vandemoortele is looking for a Plant Controller Plant-Based Food Solutions, responsible for the controlling processes of the plants in Izegem (Belgium) and Zeewolde (The Netherlands). In PBFS, Vandemoortele targets European professional users with a broad portfolio of products that combine processability, taste and flavour, as well as European retailers with private label margarines and frying fats. 

Your role

You will be dedicated for 50% to the controlling activities for the plant in Izegem and 50% for the plant in Zeewolde. You will work 1-2 days a week on site, with 25-30% travel per month to the Netherlands. The primary objective is to support the Head of Finance Benelux and Site Management with pro-active, accurate and timely financial information in order to implement the Group strategy.
The role reports directly to the Local Lead Controlling Benelux.

Your key responsibilities?

• Supporting management in the development of their goals and action plans and monitor compliance with the budget and KPIs (materials, labor and maintenance) including monthly commentary of drivers behind variances;
• Reporting and presenting monthly results to the site team including business insights
• Coordination and preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecast;
• Build up analysis and cost calculations to provide management with correct information;
• Work with site management team to develop a database of cost out opportunities and be a key member of the team driving implementation of cost out opportunities;
• Track, challenge and evaluate investments made related to efficiency and/or capacity (CAPEX projects);
• Ensure robust financial controls are in place and are following financial policies;
• Support plant management in ad hoc exercises and projects;
• Review existing processes and look for efficiency opportunities and standardization

Are you the one we're looking for?

• You hold a Master’s Degree;
• You are highly analytical with a flair for numbers and you have a good knowledge and understanding of financial topics;
• You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, in English and Dutch. Within the role, you will be in close contact with a lot of internal stakeholders such as plant/site managers, purchasing managers, commercial managers and production managers. You will present results on management meetings;
• You are genuinely interested in production processes;
• Able to understand and explain the total picture off all projects and processes
• You are a multitasker with attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills in order to meet deadlines for both plants
• You are eager to learn and to further grow within the organization (possibility for rotation programme within the finance team). You will be part of a young and dynamic controlling team;
• You are highly flexible, proactive, stress resistant and result oriented. 
• You have excellent knowledge of MS Office. Knowledge of SAP, SAP BW and Power BI is an advantage.
