We are currently looking for a temporary Data Supplier Spec Assistant to join our team until the end of 2026.

Your role
As Data Supplier Specifications Assistant, you are responsible for supporting the quality department by drawing up and managing specifications and technical documents of raw materials. On the other hand, you are responsible for all ingredient-related master data information so that all data is entered correctly, completely and on time in the ERP and recipe Management tool.     

Your main responsibilities are:

• You are responsible for the correct set-up and creation of new ingredients in the recipe management system, this is an important step in the process of developing new products.
• You work and communicate directly with suppliers to set up specifications and, after consultation, accept them; You simultaneously ensure that all their GFSI certificates and other Q reports/analyses are maintained and made available in the Vandemoortele data system.
• You participate in the roll-out of our supplier collaboration portal by sending out, reviewing and approving questionnaires.
• You ensure that new and existing ingredient and/or packaging specifications meet the functional, quality & food safety and regulatory requirements and are approved within the expected timelines.
• You build relationships and negotiate with suppliers to reach mutually agreed specifications.
• You regularly contact suppliers to raise issues, obtain information and create an environment that enables continuous improvement in the fulfilment of your role.
• You are involved in risk assessment of ingredients resulting in advice to R&D and purchasing for approval/validation of ingredients.
• You assist Vandemoortele production sites in preparing both customer audits and GFSI audits
• You also request and prepare the necessary health certificates to ensure smooth exports outside Europe.

Are you the one we're looking for?

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree in a food-related field. A first working experience is definitely a plus!
• You have a genuine interest in systems and in ingredients and/or packaging.
• You have good communication skills and work smoothly with your colleagues from different departments.
• You work very efficiently with Word and Excel; knowledge of SAP is a plus. You have a natural ability to work with digital systems and programmes.
• You work accurately and have an eye for detail. Your work is well planned and structured.
• You have a critical mindset; you are flexible and stress resistant.
• You have a very good knowledge of English and knowledge of Dutch. Knowledge of French is considered a plus.
